FORT PIERCE - Gordon O. Kountz, 75, of Fort Pierce died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in a local hospital. A native of Cincinnati, he lived in Fort Pierce for four years. He moved here from Singer Island, Fla., and Indianapolis. He served in the Army during World War II and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He enjoyed the beach, fishing and all sporting events. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis. He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Kountz. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Foster of Fort Pierce; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A service will be at a later date.
